    Step 1. Create your account

    We are very exciting about the launch of our new car sharing service and it is great to have you with us. To get started you will need to:
    1. Open an account.
    - You will need an email address, a mobile phone and a New Zealand bank account (tell me more)
    - This should take about 15 minutes
    2. Top up your pre-paid TXT balance and confirm your identity.
    - Purchase 5 pre-paid TXT credits for $1 (tell me more).
    - It will then take us 24 hours to verify your ID

    - If you get disconnected just sign on and click the   Get started link.

    - All members must confirm their identity.
    - All car shares are saved on our secure database.
    - You may nominate buddies to be contacted if you are overdue (tell me more about buddies).
  • It's easier than carpooling
    - Nothing needs to be arranged in advance.
    - You can start travelling when you are ready.
    - You are not tied into any prearranged commitments.
    This is how it works
    1. Passengers show they are seeking a car share by displaying a PLANETcarpool sign on the roadside.
    2. When offered a car share, the passenger sends a TXT message to PLANETcarpool (on 0226831421) with the car plate number.
    3. The passenger will receive a TXT message confirming their car share has been saved.
    4. The driver may request confirmation by TXT message and will receive a TXT message with:
    - The passengers PLANETcarpool rating to consider.
    - the passengers ID card details.
    - Confirmation that their car share has been saved.
    Note This will happen automatically if the driver is a member.
    5. Passenger members "pay their way" by contributing 5c/km towards the drivers travelling costs.
    6. Passengers and drivers (if they are members) then place feedback on each other.
